Wish Your Man Was More Romantic?

Life is hectic.

Life is busy.

Life is crazy, but does that mean there’s no room for romance? Absolutely not.

However, you know the average man is not naturally romantic. (Remember “Wham, bam, thank you Ma’am?”) They generally consider romance just fluff before you get to the good stuff. So, you’ll have to let him know how important it is to you.

(I’m not talking about every man. There are some out there that are truly Romance Masters. I applaud them. This post is about the average Joe, clueless about romance.)

Let’s face it. Most of you gals have probably spent years throwing out little hints about how to be more romantic without much success. Well, if you haven’t figured it out yet, I’ll lay it out for everyone.

Hints Do Not Work On Guys

You have to use a 10 lb. sledge-hammer to get their full attention. Of course, that is not a literal suggestion but you do have to stop being subtle about this concept. Get your man away from any distractions (TV, cars, friends, food, etc.) and talk to him about what you what. Be sure to make it a conversation not a confrontation or you won’t get anywhere.

Give him a few examples of what romance means to you. Then hand him a list of about four or five simple examples because you know he won’t remember the conversation past the next car show on TV or round of golf.

Some examples you could include in your list:

  • Holding hands while walking
  • Evening walks together where kids, finances and work are off-limits to discuss.
  • Foot rubs
  • Breakfast in bed
  • Bubble baths together
  • A soothing cup of tea or glass of wine
  • Chocolates and flowers

The possibilities are endless. Come up with things that appeal to you.

Good luck and be patient with your budding-Romance Master.

Tell me some of the things on your romance list…
