Originally posted on Mrs. Twinkle: Here is my “little” (well it started out as a little idea) DIY Christmas project. To beginn with I thought that I would use 1 or two pallets (and ended up enjoying the sawing so much that I did four). I was very pleased with the result and decided to…
Christmas is my favorite holiday, but with all the shopping, activities, parties and baking it can get stressful. That can lead to headaches, arguments with spouses and screaming, “I can’t wait til this is all over!” Don’t let this happen to you. With a little advance planning and patience you can have a really enjoyable and fun holiday which includes special time for spouses.
7 Ideas To Keep Christmas Merry For Couples:
A Sexy Stocking filled with adult goodies and coupons promising fun when cashed in by your spouse. The Dating Divas have a kit with instructions and ideas to help.
A Midnight Toast for you and your spouse just as Christmas Day begins before all the celebrating starts. Even a few minutes of telling each other how special they are and toasting your love can make the holiday season extra special.
Decorate your bedroom with Christmas Lights to create a romantic mood.
Christmas is just under two weeks away! Yikes! Is everyone ready?
We can’t let the stress of the holidays rob us of the pleasures and joys of the holidays. So, let’s talk about the good things about Christmas.
These are a few of my favorite things…
Christmas trees – There are few things as beautiful as a lit, decorated Christmas tree. What’s more romantic than snuggling up before the tree with all the lights off?
Christmas Eve Church Service – The Poinsettia, the songs, the joy and the love make this service extra special for me.
Christmas Shows – I love the old, favorites such as The Grinch Who Stole Christmas (original), Santa Claus is Coming To Town, It’s a Wonderful Life, Charlie Brown Christmas and of course Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. What are some of your favorites?
Nutcrackers – We have a large collection of nutcrackers, even a Steelers nutcracker 🙂
Fancy Wrapped Presents – Even though I know the gifts are not the ‘reason for the season’ presents in brightly-colored wrapping paper stir my cat-curiousity. I love to imagine what treasures they contain.
Chex Mix, Nut Roll & Christmas Cookies – Oh, all the goodies of the holidays. What is your favorite holiday cookie?
The Children – The simple wonder in the faces of the children.
So, tell us what are some of your favorite things?
You’re a mean one Mister Grinch. You really are a heel. You’re as cuddly as a cactus, you’re as charming as an eel, Mister Grinch. You’re a bad banana with a greasy black peel.
Yup, that’s me; King of sarcasm and hater of all things jolly. I’m not saying that there aren’t things to love about the holidays. There are plenty, but c’mon everybody, if we’re truly being honest with ourselves, there are a lot of things to hate about the holidays. Here’s my top ten, and in the spirit of a gift that keeps on giving, I’m hoping I’ll mention one or two things you haven’t noticed before and from this day forward you won’t be able to not notice them.
10. Candy canes: They’re sticky. That’s pretty much it. I like the minty flavor, but I can get that in a York Peppermint Patty without my lips, tongue…
Here are my ten favorite Christmas movies in no particular order:
Christmas with the Kranks
A Christmas Carol (classic version)
The Polar Express
Miracle on 34th Street
The Santa Clause
Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas (original version)
A Charlie Brown Christmas
It’s a Wonderful Life
The Sound of Music (maybe not a Christmas themed movie but they always play it around Christmas time)
National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation
There are hundreds of movies with a Christmas theme, but I enjoy wholesome, family type movies for such a spiritual holiday. Some of the older movies I enjoy because they bring back wonderful memories from my childhood Christmases.
What do you think? Do you like any of the movies listed above? What are some of your favorites?
I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Spread the goodwill around to everyone, friend or stranger.
