You have the guy, you have the ring, now all you need is the perfect wedding.
If you’ve read my previous posts (Spice Up Love Life with Feng Shui and Get a Romance-Filled Bedroom with Feng Shui) you know that Feng Shui can help you balance energies to create more love and romance in your life. This post will apply that science to the most romantic event of your life.
#1 Pick Auspicious Day & Time
Try to choose the year of the groom’s animal from the Chinese Zodiac. For instance, 2014 is the Year of the Horse so this would be a very auspicious year for anyone born with the Horse symbol. If the ideal year is too far away, pick a year that falls under the Trinity Friends for either the bride or groom’s animal, but avoid any years of Conflict Animals.

#2 Pick the Reception Site
If possible, have your wedding and reception outside looking onto a beautiful garden, flowing water or rolling hills to attract lots of positive energy.
If your reception will be indoors, choose a well-lit site to ensure a ‘bright future.’ If the site is dim (few windows letting in natural light), spread crystal glasses and candlesticks around with mirrors to reflect the light. Make sure there are no clocks in the room because a love union should be timeless.
The tables should be round or oval encouraging harmony and conversation among your guests.
#3 Color Scheme
Red – traditional Chinese wedding color, strong sense of love and romance.
Pink – symbolizes fun, playfulness and youthful lightheartedness.
Purple/violet – very good for small, intimate weddings, sets off sexy and passionate vibes.
White & Black – combo has good balance between yin and yang.
Blues & Greens – very good for second weddings, calm atmosphere.
Yellow – creates cheerfulness, very helpful to lighten a dim reception area.
Orange – very good for large guest lists, creates warmth to promote conversation in a comfortable environment.
#4 Flowers
Peonies – longevity
Chrysanthemums – happiness
Orange flowers – prosperity
Tulips – Sensuality
Roses – love
#5 Something Borrowed, Something Blue
If you follow the Old Wives Tale of a bride needing ‘Something Borrowed & Something Blue,’ make sure you ‘borrow’ from someone who already has a happy marriage and family to ensure positive energy for your marriage and (future) family. Try also, to ‘borrow’ something blue to bring peace and serenity to the union.
#6 Exit
Leaving your reception in a long, black limo is very auspicious.
Have your guests wish you off with bubbles (symbolizing water), flower petals (roses symbolize love) or the more traditional rice (symbolizing fertility).
Take lots of photos and get the best ones framed to hang in your new home.
Planning a wedding can be stressful, but it doesn’t have to be. Chineseweddings.com has a Wedding Checklist which may help keep you on schedule and calmer. But the main thing is for your to smile! It is your day, enjoy it.
Tell me about your weddings. I’d love to hear what went smoothly and what went wrong 🙂

By combing the yin and yang color in perfect combination can bring best harmony in marriage life. By using the color red with light shade of pink or dark green with light shade of green or purple and lavender or any other color with their light shade can pair up in best way and should be the perfect choice of wedding gown according to Feng Shui charms.
